Professional Development Program Scholarships
NYSTA is pleased to offer the Janet Pranschke PDP Scholarship. The scholarship was established in 2011 in honor of Janet Pranschke, the Founding Director of the Oren L. Brown Professional Development Program. It is awarded annually to one NYSTA member and is intended to encourage singing teachers of all levels of experience to improve their teaching skills and knowledge of repertoire.
Scholarship recipients receive access to the PDP core curriculum, a series of five courses offered by leading figures in the fields of vocal pedagogy, science, and performance. Recipients receive online access to all courses throughout the scholarship period and receive NYSTA’s Distinguished Voice Professional Certificate of Completion upon successful completion of all coursework.
Requirements
Applicants must be current NYSTA members or agree to join NYSTA upon acceptance of the scholarship.
There is currently no application deadline for the scholarship; applications are accepted on a continuing basis.
Application Process
To apply, please submit:
- A letter of intention describing your current teaching practice and how you hope to benefit from the program
- CV or résumé
- A link to your website and online content, if available
- Contact information for two professional references, such as a voice teacher, coach, colleague, or music school professor
- Your telephone number
- If you are not currently a NYSTA member, confirmation that you will join NYSTA upon acceptance of the scholarship
