Julian is a passionate educator dedicated to guiding singers on their vocal journeys. He teaches singers working in a variety of genres, including opera and classical, musical theatre, pop, and jazz. He previously taught at the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University, where served as Associate Instructor of voice. In this position, he taught private voice lessons to both majors and non-majors, and also served as the Associate Director of the undergraduate opera workshop, for which he directed scenes and provided foreign language coachings. Julian is currently completing his Doctor of Music degree at the Jacobs School of Music, where his mentors included Kevin Murphy, Wolfgang Brendel, Patricia Stiles, and Gary Arvin. He currently maintains a busy performance schedule and private voice studio in New York City, where he studies with renowned voice teacher Mark Schnaible.

Bass-baritone Julian Michael Morris is a freelance singer and voice teacher based in New York City. He regularly appears with many of New York's most renowned choral and chamber music ensembles, including The Clarion Choir, Ember Choral Arts, The Cecilia Chorus of New York, and is on the roster of the Chamber Choir at Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church. Upcoming engagements include returns to Carnegie Hall with The Clarion Choir, and The Cecilia Chorus of New York, and an international tour of Handel's Solomon with The English Concert.
Teaching Philosophy
Lessons are designed to help singers to discover their individual sound, and sing with confidence. Students learn in a supportive, safe environment. They receive guidance on selecting repertoire, developing musicianship skills, and adopting effective practice habits. All musical styles are welcome!
