About the Presentation
How can singers adapt to the rigorous stylistic demands many regard as “high stress” singing, usually performed eight shows a week on Broadway or regional theatre? Designed for classically trained voices (but open to auditors from all musical backgrounds!), this workshop will specifically explore the Contemporary Musical Theatre style, such as Alanis Morrisette’s Jagged Little Pill.
Jane Seaman will offer specific vocalizations while she works directly with 3 or 4 chosen singers. Each will sing first a short song in their comfort zone, then dig into a contemporary musical theatre piece or rock/pop song and be coached on adjustments within their vocal tract and resonators.
