Songfest 2015 - David & Nancy Adams Scholarship

NYSTA is pleased to announce that this year it will be awarding The David and Nancy Adams Scholarships to SongFest 2015.  Two scholarships will be awarded this year.  This transformation from the David Adams Art Song Competition continues to pay tribute to David and Nancy Adams’ commitment to and love of the art song repertoire.  SongFest is a three-week program that takes place at the Colburn Conservatory of Music in Los Angeles, California, usually from the end of May until the end of June.  It affords participants the opportunity to work with some of the world’s great art song coaches and a number of contemporary composers on their works.  In previous years they have included Rudolf Piernay, Graham Johnson, Margo Garrett, Martin Katz, Craig Rutenberg, Roger Vignoles, Jake Heggie, John Musto, William Bolcolm, and singers Sanford Sylvan, Lucy Shelton and Susanne Mentzer.

These will be full scholarships but will not include transportation.
